Do You Hear What I hear?

If you’re anything like me then you do.  It’s the sound of the holiday season rushing towards you! A co-worker pointed out to me just last week that we have less than 3 months until Christmas.  I have major planning and shopping to do.

Christmas cards. Do  you send them? When the kids were smaller, and were not as involved in so many activities, we took the time to type up a family newsletter, pose for a cute family photo and hand address all of our Christmas cards.  Now time is a precious commodity. We enter all the addresses into a mail merge and print labels.  This year we’ve been selected (or wrestled into, whichever way you like to put it) to host Christmas Dinner.  We decided to put these Personalized Holiday Memory Cards in our Christmas Cards. Personalized Holiday Memory Cards  This way our family and friends who will be attending the big shindig will have time to fill them out. This not only forces me to get the cards out plenty early, but gives me something to look forward to. Making memories is the best part of getting family together over the holidays.  I’m sure the embarrassing stories of my childhood will provide my kids with a good laugh.

Food for the holidays. Thankfully our Christmas dinner is a potluck. I am supplying the desserts and the paper products. That makes easy clean up for me.  Of course we’ll be using some of our Christmas Holiday Paper Plates, Napkins and Cups.  Christmas Plate  You can see the Lunch Plates to the right. I do have sturdier plates for the little ones to use. They are more apt to spill and leave me with pretty holiday colored stains.  We all know what headaches those can cause! I just love the bright colors and it makes the table look so festive.  We’ll also be using the cupcake stand to display the goodies.  This year I’ll be making my new favorite cupcakes. They’re called Hot Chocolate Cupcakes  from my new favorite blog,  Bake It In A Cake!  I can’t wait for everyone to try them!

I’ll also be coordinating fun games for all ages.  A game of  Pin The Nose on Rudolph will get them all fired up.  Then the  little ones will be set up with a craft corner.  Coloring, cutting and gluing  on the to-do list.  The grownups will be having Christmas Bingo, Name that Christmas Tune and a rousing game of  Christmas Trivia! I found some printable trivia games at this siteHoliday Click PensThese oh so cute Holiday Click Pens are fun to use during the games and are inexpensive enough that everyone can take one home.

Whew, it looks like I’m more prepared than I thought! Now if only I had a personal shopper to take care of that aspect of the holidays. Anyone have any tips?
